Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Susanna Thompson will reprise her role as Moira Queen on Arrow. Unsurprisingly, details about her appearance are being kept secret, but fans are already buzzing about the news.

Of course, the return of Moira Queen isn’t a total shocker to well-informed fans. Arrow has already announced that other long-dead character will be returning for the one hundredth episode. Most notably, Jamey Sheridan and Katie Cassidy will return to play Robert Queen and Laurel Lance, respectively.

Earlier this week, Stephen Amell sent fans into a frenzy when he teased the return of Deathstroke to Arrow. The iconic DC Comics character has been a staple villain on the series, and fans last saw Slade Wilson imprisoned on Lian Yu. Actor Manu Bennett has since responded to the teaser with a well-timed meme that shows fans why Deathstroke will return. And, as expected, the baddie will have it out for Oliver Queen.

With both Robert Queen and Deathstroke set to star in the one hundredth episode, fans are speculating how its storyline will accommodate the new litany of characters. Many are also curious as to how the DCCW-verse’s ‘Flashpoint’ story arc will alter Arrow when it returns next month. Viewers expect the time-traveling schtick is behind the return of all these characters, but executive producer Marc Guggenheim has teased that might not be the case.

As for other guests, fans are waiting to see if any more characters might reappear on Arrow come October. Recently, Amell posted a photo on Twitter teasing a “mysterious guest” for the one hundredth episode, but the picture might have been alluding to Thompson’s return.

There will be other guests joining Arrow for Season 5 – ones who fans haven’t met yet. News broke that WWE superstar Cody Rhodes had been cast on the series, exciting comic book fans and sports enthusiasts.

“It’s incredibly exciting, man, and I think [Cody]’s really going to excel,” Amell told Comicbook.com about Rhodes. “He’s in 5.03, and I think it has a real chance to be an excellent episode.”

And, as always, Arrow will team-up with the other comic book series currently airing on The CW. A four-episode crossover will happen between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow. The network recently released a teaser trailer for the action-packed arc which shows the superhero squad taking on one overpowered villain.

Season 5 of Arrow will hit TV on October 5, 2016.
