At the Kre8tif! conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last week, a conference focused on animation, visual effects, licensing and marketing, the newest DC Comics-based animated series, Justice League Action was featured, as spotted by Batpedia. A slide showed several characters from the new series, offering up some confirmation of who will be included, and what they’ll look like in the show.

From left to right, top to bottom, we see Blue Beetle, a difficult to identify suited and bespectacled character we’ll guess is The Riddler, Doctor Fate, Shazam, Doctor Light, Mr. Terrific, The Joker, Killer Croc, Firestorm, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Big Barda, a caped character – perhaps Zatarra, Ra’s al Ghul, or Count Vertigo? – Harley Quinn, Hawkman, Lobo, Satan Girl, and while his head is obscured, likely Black Mask.
Of interesting note, the looks for both Harley Quinn and Lobo return to previous styles for the characters. Harley’s look is back to her classic harlequin clown costume, which she wore in her original appearances in Batman: The Animated Series as created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini. Her appearance in the comics, and the upcoming film Suicide Squad has been drastically different. Lobo, likewise, has recently been in the comics as a thin, svelte killer, more 21st Century emo than 80s metal.
There’s a heavy contingent of Bat-villains represented, especially if the slightly mysterious characters are in fact Riddler, Ra’s, and Black Mask. Satan Girl, if that’s who is pictured down at the bottom, is an old Supergirl villain, though. The image shows a return to a more stylized look to all the characters, something extrapolated from the previous reveal of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman – they seem to be a combination of the “Timmverse” looks and the style of more recent Batman series (he’s had a few).
Justice League Action hits small screens Fall 2016, and includes a voice cast featuring Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as Joker, and more. Lex Luthor and Booster Gold were previously confirmed as appearing on the show, and other Justice League staples like Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, and many more will certainly appear in the rotating cast.
