Penguin Sees Ghost of His Father In First Clip from Gotham’s Midseason Premiere

In the second season of Gotham, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) met his biological father, Elijah Van Dahl (Paul Reubens), for the first time. Despite finding out his son was a notorious crime lord, his father invited Penguin to stay in his mansion with him, his conniving wife and her greedy children. Just before Elijah — who is in poor health — can add Penguin to his will, he is accidentally poisoned and quickly dies.

However, that won’t be the last we see of Elijah. In this first clip from Gotham’s midseason premiere — which airs this Monday — Penguin is visited in the middle of the night by the ghost of his father.

Falcone places a hit on Gordon after learning that he shot Mario. Gordon and Bullock discover a follower of Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan), who plans to bring him back to life. Meanwhile, Penguin spirals out of control before the biggest television interview of his Mayoral career, and Bruce and Selina deal with Selina’s mom’s return to Gotham.
