DC Films has its hands full with Justice League, but Shazam! is very much on the company’s mind. The movie will be the next DCEU feature to enter production, and casting is underway for its lead roles. Omega Underground uncovered several audition tapes for the film, and the clips appear to hint at one of the film’s big baddies.
The website sussed out audition tapes featuring Parker Young as he tried out for Shazam. Warner Bros. has since privatized the videos on Vimeo, but Omega Underground was able to glean an important bit of information before the take-down occurred.

According to a new report, the audition tapes used a script that was specific to Shazam! and its leads. The reels for Shazam! saw actors talk about Batman and Superman, but one reference has piqued major interest. In two of the tapes, Billy Batson is shown meeting Shazam’s wizardly self. The pair talk for a bit before Shazam says he’s the last of his council since the rest were all killed by the Seven Deadly Sins. Shazam is now looking for a Earthly champion who can save the human race from the Sins and their influence.
If you are not familiar with DC’s Seven Deadly Sins, they are much what you’d expect. The villains are based off mortal sins like lust, greed, and envy. The sins are embodied within seven demons, and Shazam defeated them a long time ago. In the comics, the Seven Deadly Sins were freed long after they were first captured, and it fell to Billy/Shazam to gather them once more.
There’s no guarantee the audition scripts will relate to Shazam! itself, but fans are intrigued enough to speculate. The tapes also saw Shazam mention the Earth has been without a champion for quite some time, so the nod could open up room for talk about Black Adam.
