Over the course of two seasons, Winn has gone through a lot of changes on Supergirl. Though he started out on the show alongside Kara Danvers as the programmer for CatCo, Winslow Schott, Jr. has since moved on to become a member of the Department of Extra-Normal Operations.
After spending the entire second season as the secretive government organization’s technician, Winn will now move on to a position of leadership, according to actor Jeremy Jordan.

“I think he’s gained a lot of confidence since Season 1,” Jordan said to CBR. “He didn’t really have any idea of what he was really capable of until he was allowed to go work at the DEO, and now he’s just living his best life. He loves his job, he loves the people he works with. I think he’s continuing to gain confidence. He’s taking more of a leadership role this season at the DEO. We’ll see where that takes him.”
Ever since J’onn J’onnz (disguised as Hank Henshaw) invited Winn to join the group, he’s quickly made an impression and is now set to move up in their ranks.
But Jordan could not reveal what his new position in the organization would be, or even if it’s official, for one simple reason: he doesn’t know.
“I wish I could [say], but I don’t really know except for just a couple of moments where I yell at people,” Jordan said.
We’ll learn more about Winn’s increased prominence in the DEO when Supergirl returns for Season 3 on Monday, October 9th on The CW.
Ridding National City of Queen Rhea and her Daxamite army was a major win for Supergirl, but one that came at a significant cost, as Kara was forced to sacrifice her budding relationship with Mon-El. When season three returns with all-new supercharged adventures this fall on The CW, Kara and team will come up against a new threat in the form of DC Worldkiller, Reign.
