Fans of Young Justice are often also fans of DC’s the Teen Titans, so it stands to reason that bringing over some of the talent from Young Justice to work on the new DC Teen Titans animated film would go over well. That is especially the case when that Teen Titans movie is the Judas Contract, adapting one of the most popular Titans stories in the team’s long history.

ComicBook.com had the chance to talk to Judas Contract character designer Phil Bourassa at WonderCon, and spoke to him about his method of translating his Young Justice character designs for Judas Contract.
“Well it’s a different continuity, so you know the style is the same because it’s still my hand, and I have certain choices I tend to lean towards, but there are different designs. For instance in Young Justice Beast Boy, we had this thing where he was kind of going through a teenager phase where he just decided to be like half monkey boy all the time, but that was a very story driven point, whereas traditionally Beast Boy’s got the green elf look, so we didn’t want to overly have to explain him, so he’s more traditional in this one.”
As for his favorite design, that is none other than the aforementioned Beast Boy, who’s power-set makes him a favorite for most thanks to the built-in variety. “Beast Boy is pretty interesting because A he is a lot of fun. Inherently he is used for a lot of comedic beats, so you have to imbue him with this really charming sort of sense of humor, but then also you get the menagerie of animals that he can turn into and that’s like tremendous fun not just to design but for the animators as well.”

Christina Ricci (Zelda, Sleepy Hollow, The Addams Family) and the late Miguel Ferrer (NCIS: Los Angeles, RoboCop, Crossing Jordan) join the already established Teen Titans voice cast as Terra and Deathstroke, respectively. Returning Titans actors include Sean Maher (Firefly/Serenity, Batman: Bad Blood) as Nightwing, Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as Raven, Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place, The Fosters) as Blue Beetle, Brandon Soo Hoo (Tropic Thunder, From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) as Beast Boy, Kari Wahlgren (Phineas and Ferb, Legion of Superheroes) as Starfire, and Stuart Allan (Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood) as Robin/Damian. Gregg Henry (Scandal, The Killing, Payback) voices the villainous Brother Blood.
Other actors and characters joining the cast include Meg Foster as Mother Mayhem, Crispin Freeman as Speedy, Masasa Moyo as Bumblebee, and Jason Spisak as Kid Flash, returning to the role he performed in the fan-favorite Young Justice series.
Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is directed by Sam Liu, written by Ernie Altbacker, and produced by EP Sam Register, Supervising Producer James Tucker, and co-Producer Alan Burnett.
