DC's animation division has been cranking out new projects at a stellar pace, and despite the occasional hiccup, the films are some of the best adaptations of fan favorite stories from the comics. The same can be said for their newest project, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, but there is one past film that Producer James Tucker would like to revisit.
ComicBook.com caught up to Tucker at WonderCon, where he was asked what other iconic titles he would like to see made in animation. Tucker said "Well we're doing a few so I can't say, but there was the thing we never got to do with Flashpoint was the Flashpoint Batman story. You know there was no time in the Flashpoint movie to tell that particular story. We did our little-abbreviated snippet to show you how Joker came about, but there's a whole three comic book arc of that that was in the comics, and I always wanted to bring that to the screen."
On the original movie front, he does have a soft spot for one particular hero. "There's so many like smaller known stories or good stories that didn't have a big event behind them that would be great to adapt. I'd still love to do a solo Swamp Thing movie, and after Justice League Dark came out I'm like okay, I think we have a little more wind behind us doing that."
For now, you can see Swamp Thing in Justice League Dark, which pairs him with a team that includes Zatanna, Etrigan the Demon, John Constantine, Deadman, and Batman. Justice League Dark is out now, as is Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, and you can find the official synopsis below.
Christina Ricci (Zelda, Sleepy Hollow, The Addams Family) and the late Miguel Ferrer (NCIS: Los Angeles, RoboCop, Crossing Jordan) join the already established Teen Titans voice cast as Terra and Deathstroke, respectively. Returning Titans actors include Sean Maher (Firefly/Serenity, Batman: Bad Blood) as Nightwing, Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as Raven, Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place, The Fosters) as Blue Beetle, Brandon Soo Hoo (Tropic Thunder, From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) as Beast Boy, Kari Wahlgren (Phineas and Ferb, Legion of Superheroes) as Starfire, and Stuart Allan (Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood) as Robin/Damian. Gregg Henry (Scandal, The Killing, Payback) voices the villainous Brother Blood.
Other actors and characters joining the cast include Meg Foster as Mother Mayhem, Crispin Freeman as Speedy, Masasa Moyo as Bumblebee, and Jason Spisak as Kid Flash, returning to the role he performed in the fan-favorite Young Justice series.
Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is directed by Sam Liu, written by Ernie Altbacker, and produced by EP Sam Register, Supervising Producer James Tucker, and co-Producer Alan Burnett. The full list of special features, which include a first look at the next film Batman and Harley Quinn, a look back at Wolfman and Perez's acclaimed run on the comic, and a featurette on Deathstroke, follows.
Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is available now.
