Rick Cosnett had already confirmed he would return for an episode of The Flash this season, but it seems as though that episode is filming now.

Cast members have posted behind-the-scenes photos from Vancouver, where the show is filmed, featuring Cosnett palling around with Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, and Candice Patton.

Cosnett’s character died in the season 1 finale, but since The Flash regularly travels through time and to other universes, it’s always possible to bring back nearly anybody who has died or otherwise left the show.
The photo above, posted to Patton’s Twitter account, could be telling: it’s four of the main players from the show’s first season, standing in Jitters — where Patton’s character Iris West worked in season 1 and has rarely been seen this season.
Could that mean that Eddie’s presence is time travel-related, rather than being an exploration of another world in DC’s multiverse or some other, possibly Flashpoint-related resurrection?
That seems the most likely piece of speculation, and the fact that Barry’s chest-mounted Flash logo is missing might lend some credence to it. In the show’s first season, that logo featured a red background field as opposed to the white one seen in both the comics and the show’s second and third seasons.
There have occasionally been behind-the-scenes shots that feature Gustin without the detachable chest logo, so its absence is not itself suspicious, but coupled with the grouping of characters and the setting, it seems entirely plausible that whoever took the photo might have gently reminded Gustin that wearing the season 1 emblem could blow a major plot point when the picture went out to social media.
