In the previous episode, Future-Barry wasn’t able to tell Barry who Savitar is, but he was able to give his younger self the name of the physicist that helped him trap the God of Speed in the Speed Force — four years after Iris’ death — and handed him a flashdrive containing information on the technology.

The name of the physicist is Tracy Brand, and now that Barry has traveled back to his own time, he will reach out to the genius-in-the-making to see if she can duplicate her own technology. However, he better get to her before Killer Frost does.

But Savitar hasn’t called upon Killer Frost just to be an ally, instead looking to her for very specific reasons. During Tuesday’s episode, that means Killer Frost attempting to find Tracy Brand (Anne Dudek), the physicist who goes on to help Barry trap Savitar in the Speed Force. “How lost is Caitlin that she’s willing to do what Savitar needs her to do?” [EP Andrew] Kreisberg notes. “She plays a unique part. He’s not just looking for an evil cohort; she’s actually necessary for him to pull off his plans.” – EW

VIBE FACES OFF AGAINST KILLER FROST โ€“ Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team meet Tracy Brand (Anne Dudek), a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. Unfortunately, Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) is also after Tracy so Team Flash must battle their old friend, which proves to be particularly difficult for Cisco (Carlos Valdes). Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Cecile’s (Danielle Nicolet) relationship takes a big turn.
