The Flash‘s newest episode had quite a surprising ending – but did it just detail part of The Thinker’s agenda?

Spoilers for tonight’s episode of The Flash, ‘Mixed Signals’, below!

Throughout the episode, Team Flash went up against Kilg%re, a villain with the ability to inflict a technological virus on his enemies. After Barry captured Kilg%re, he kept him in a prison cell free from technology. He asked how Kilg%re got his powers without being involved in the particle accelerator explosion, but the villain was vague on the details, simply saying that he isn’t “the only one” who got his powers this way.

Soon after, his cell was quickly shown on a monitor in The Thinker’s lair. What’s most interesting isn’t necessarily that he was keeping an eye on Kilg%re, but that he had eleven other windows alongside him. So if The Thinker did have a hand in Kilg%re’s powers (as the subtext certainly seems to suggest), who’s to say what other future villains could be under his control?

Here are a couple villains we think could make their way onto The Flash‘s fourth season – and could somehow be part of The Thinker’s grand plot.

Folded Man

Folded Man, also known as Edwin Gauss, first appeared in 1999’s The Flash Vol. 2 #153.

Gauss is a brilliant physics student, who invents a device (using stolen tech) that allows interdimensional travel. He turns the device into a suit, which allows him to manipulate his personal dimensions, turning into a two-dimensional or four-dimensional.

This could very easily manifest on The Flash – and would pose as a pretty interesting foe against Team Flash. In particular, his four-dimensional abilities would be a unique challenge against the Earth-hopping characters like Cisco, Gypsy, and Breacher.

Manfred Mota

Another tech-based villain that could enter The Flash‘s fold is Manfred Mota. The character was first established in the Flash 50th Anniversary Special, which revealed that he’s faced off against multiple incarnations of the speedster under different names (including Atom Smasher, a villain already seen on The Flash).

Mota is a nuclear engineer with various atom-based powers, which are usually given to him by some sort of suit. This gives The Flash the ability to choose from multiple origins – and create a more physical foe for Team Flash to go up against.

In a way, The Flash could also do their own version of the multiple incarnations thing, with Mota going up against Barry, Wally, and maybe even Jesse in different ways.

Gizmo

Usually known as Mikron O’Jeneus, Gizmo has been a Teen Titans foe since the 1980s. The jetpack-wielding villain is a genius inventor, with the ability to transform common household objects into weapons.

The Flash could handle Gizmo’s origin in quite a few different ways, including him being a vengeful former S.T.A.R. Labs employee (something canon in the comics). His trickster-like abilities would also make him a particularly interesting foe, similar to previous Arrowverse standouts like Pied Piper and Supergirl‘s Mr. Myxptylk.

Blacksmith

And finally, The Blacksmith definitely feels like a possible part of The Thinker’s plan – considering the fact that she’s already been cast. Sci-fi favorite Katee Sackhoff was cast as Amunet Black/Blacksmith back in August, with her set to appear in the season’s fifth episode, ‘Girl’s Night Out.’

In the comics, Black serves as the leader of The Network, an underground black market in Central City. She eventually gains the power to fuse metal and flesh – something that could have pretty weird consequences on The Flash.

It’s unknown exactly how her powers will come about – and what way The Thinker would be able to utilize them. But luckily, fans probably won’t have to wait too long to find out.
