5 Things We Want to See in the Legends of Tomorrow Midseason Finale
Tonight will be the midseason finale of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, pitting the time-traveling [...]
HOT AND COLD
Of course, the biggest thing to be on the lookout for is the relationship between Mick Rory and his former partner, Leonard Snart. So far, we have no idea whether he will be last season's mostly-good Snart who somehow survived the time blast, the bad-guy Snart of the past with a bone to pick, or somewhere in between.
All last season, Heat Wave and Captain Cold had an unpredictable dynamic, as the two held their friendship close, but always seemed to be on separate missions and usually at cross purposes. It's looking like that dynamic will be back...but what an alive-and-well Captain Cold will mean for Heat Wave, who has been a major player so far in the season, remains to be seen.
THE JSA
We almost certainly won't actually see the JSA, but it would be nice if we could start to get a sense for why Vixen was brought into the season and whether she will be able to change what seems to be a sad destiny for the country's first superhero team.
So far, we've only really seen them once, and then a second episode where Obsidian explained that they all somehow died. We know that they were targeted by the Dominators...but that's about it. Why were they the very first group attacked by Thawne and company this season? There has to be a reason for the time and place of it.
A LITTLE LEVITY
There wasn't a lot of time for comedy last week, when Invasion! took over the line and the team spent almost all of the Legends of Tomorrow episode battling aliens.
This week, it's going to be super high stakes, at least one or two of the characters are going to be very emotionally raw...and we're hoping that they have at least a few moments to stop, breathe, and balance the heart, the humor, and the story.
So far this season, the comedic elements of Legends have been landing much better than they did last season. It would be a shame to go out of 2016 with a couple of really dire-serious episodes.
STEIN'S DAUGHTER
Martin Stein just discovered he had a daughter, and while we got to meet her a little bit last week, there wasn't much in the way of solid information about Lily Stein as a character.
It would be nice if we got to know a little bit more about the life that Stein can't remember -- especially because if he's going to allow it to emotionally compromise him to the point where he doesn't want to undo the change, he really should prepare himself to go into a conversation with her at some point.
CANARIES
This one's a little out there -- and probably not realistic -- but it would certainly be nice if we could find out what Sara's reaction will be when she learns that her sister has seemingly turned up alive and well in Star City.
It would be a difficult -- but not impossible -- task to imagine somebody finding a way to reach out to Sara about it, but if tonight's Legends is anywhere near as bleak as last night's Arrow for the most part, a moment of joy and hope at the end could (again, like Arrow) really help the year to go out on an up note.
