The Titans series finally has its Robin, complete with a stunning costume. So, how does it compare to the Robin suit seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

DC Entertainment released the first look at the Robin costume from Titans, and it's hard to find anything to complain about. The suit features the red, green, and gold most commonly associated with the character, a look that especially took hold during the Tim Drake years. That color scheme was also used for Batman v Superman's version of the character, though that is only glimpsed in Bruce Wayne's Batcave.

At one point during the film fans can see Robin's old costume on display, though it has a message from Joker spray painted on it. If you remove the graffiti and the BvS filter though, you're left with a similar Red, Green, and Gold theme, though the red and Green, is more muted. The gold is also less colorful, looking ore militaristic.

In fact, the BvS costume is closer to Damian Wayne's look from the comics, while Titans is closer to Tim Drake's suit. It's hard to see if the Titans version has fins like the BvS suit, but everywhere else it seems to be much closer to the comics than the movie version.

It doesn't hurt that in Titans Robin will carry a staff as opposed to a bladed spear, further lengthening the gap between the two.

While the suit is more Tim Drake, the character is very much Dick Grayson. The studio released the new photo with a statement that makes it clear Grayson is their Robin.

"Dick Grayson is one of the most important and iconic heroes in the DC universe, and it wasn't easy to find him but we have," DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns said. "Brenton has the emotional depth, heart, danger and physical presence of Batman's former protege and the Titans' future leader. We're extremely lucky he's chosen to bring his talents to this project and this character."

It's unknown whether Grayson will remain Robin for the entire series or if he will eventually become Nightwing. Grayson started with the Titans in his classic costume, but eventually became Nightwing and went through several costume changes until he arrived at the modern suit that fans most know him by.

Fans can see for themselves when Titans hits DC's digital service in 2018.
