The first three entries in the DC Extended Universe — Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad — weren’t well received by film critics (especially the last two), but by all indications, Wonder Woman is destined to break that trend.

A couple days ago, the film was screened to members of the press and their initial reactions have been overwhelming positive — praising it for its “awe-inspiring action scenes,” “heart” and “humanity,” the “magnetic” chemistry of its two leads, “empowering” message, and lack of “angst” and “cynicism.”
To build on that hype, Warner Bros. has released a new batch of sneak peeks, which you can view in the video above, as well as behind-the-scenes footage.
The first clip features the intense fight training that General Antiope (Robin Wright) puts her niece Diana (Gal Gadot) through, teaching the superhero-to-be to never let her guard down.
In the following clip, after crash-landing on Themyscira, the idyllic and hidden island that the Amazons inhabit, Steve Trevor is captured and brought before Queen Hippolyta, her daughter, Diana, and her faithful subjects. With the Lasso of Truth around him, Trevor is compelled to answer her questions honestly, revealing he’s a spy.
After going with Trevor to London, on a mission to end the first great war, Trevor and Etta Candy, his secretary, try to convince Diana to stop walking around with her shield and sword.
Sensing that he is being followed, Trevor escorts Diana into an alley so that they can hide, but the bad guys are already there, waiting for him. Fortunately for him, their guns are no match for the Amazonian princess and her bulletproof bracelets.
While on the front, Trevor and his allied friends are under attack. Wonder Woman tells them to stay where they are and takes on a whole slew of Germans all by herself.
Erich Ludendorff (Danny Huston), the iron-fisted general of the German army, meets Wonder Woman and greets her with a bullet; however, she deflects it right back into the barrel in which it came.
Lastly, Diana is unimpressed with Trevor’s leader and very upset with Trevor for not standing his ground, fighting for what he believes in.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powersโฆand her true destiny.
