Pokemon Go has announced a series of live events to help players catch regional-exclusive Pokemon. These “Safari Zone” live events will give players a chance to capture Pokemon like Tauros, Heracross, and Farfetch’d that are found exclusively on other continents.

The Safari Zone events will also give players a chance to take on “unique and powerful” Raid Bosses. That sounds like Niantic will use Pokemon that aren’t usually Raid Bosses for these events.
The Safari Zone live events will take place (at least initially) in Europe at select Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers later this summer. Here are the announced dates and locations:
August 5: Fisketorvet (Copenhagen, Denmark); Centrum Cerny Most (Prague, Czech Republic)
August 12: Mall of Scandinavia (Stockholm, Sweden); Stadshart Amstelveen (Amstelveen, the Netherlands)
September 16:Centro (Oberhausen, Germany); Les Quatre Temps (Paris, France); La Maquinista (Barcelona, Spain)
These Safari Zone events are the latest in a series of planned live events for Pokemon Go. The game also has the large Pokemon Go Fest coming up next weekend, as well as a tie-in to the annual Pikachu Outbreak festival in Japan later this fall. Pokemon Go is also taking over the English city of Chester for an event later this month.
Pokemon Go had previously hosted several live events at Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers earlier this summer that were widely considered to be a flop. It looks like these Safari Zone events will be much more of a draw for players.
