This weekend’s EVO 2017 tournaments are heating up, and we just saw the conclusion of the last Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 battle that will take place, as the game will likely be replaced by Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite when next year’s rolls around. That said, following the conclusion of said tournament, Capcom obliged in giving fans a sneak peek of what to expect from Infinite – and finally revealed a surprise addition to the roster.

Jedah, who first appeared in the company’s classic Darkstalkers line-up, will in fact be included in the roster in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, marking the first time that we’ve seen a male character in the series in some time. (Morrigan, Felicia and Hsien-Ko have become favorites over the past few years.) Following his reveal, the competitors were able to show Jedah in action, and, based on what we’ve seen so far, he didn’t disappoint.

Jedah appears to be a lot more nimble than his previous Darkstalkers counterpart, with moves that can be chained together, including swipes from his arms, wings and a mighty scythe-like weapon when it comes to hurting someone. Though we don’t have video of the full match just yet, our good friend Wario64 was able to capture a brief amount of footage, which you can catch below.

More than likely, this is just the beginning for what could be a big week for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Capcom will be hosting a panel at San Diego Comic-Con later this week, where it’s very likely that it’ll reveal a number of new stars from the Marvel side of things, including rumored favorites like Black Panther (Wakanda is in the game, so why not?) and possibly even Ant-Man. The company hasn’t confirmed names just yet, but we’re likely to see a few surprises during the panel – and we’ll let you know just who’s unveiled as it happens.

Considering the game is just a couple of months from release, Capcom only has a few more key opportunities to reveal the complete roster, but we have faith that the company is saving some big superstars for the weeks ahead. And we can’t wait to see that Thanos/Ultron match-up.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite releases on September 19th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
