Tekken 7 offers up a great deal of variety, and fans have been drawn to that, resulting in the game recently clearing two million copies sold. That said, it doesn't rely go through too much of the basics when it comes to newcomers of the series, as it seems to lean more towards getting fans right into the fighting action.

But does the lack of tutorials make a difference with a game such as this? Producer Katsuhiro Harada doesn't seem to think so, because he's come to the conclusion that players don't really utilize tutorials.

Speaking with PCGamesN, Harada noted that Bandai Namco is able to keep easy track of where players go within Tekken games, and very few seem to walk towards that "first step" in getting acquainted with the game.

"You hear a lot of people say this game is great because it has a tutorial but when we look at the data, not many people play these tutorial moves," he explained. "This is the same when you buy something new, you take it home and you don't read the manual. It's a positive for your product if you can say you have a tutorial but when you take a closer look, you notice that people aren't really playing it."

But he believes that the story mode goes a long way in teaching players what they really want to know. "As you're playing through the story mode, you naturally learn things like, 'Oh, this can be side stepped' or 'This character has this powerful special move if I learn how to use it properly," Harada explained. "In the story mode, you can perform these with a simplified command so once you know about it, you can practice to perform this with the normal command."

The interview link above allows him to go more in-depth, but, to be honest, Tekken 7 does a great job when it comes to getting new players acquainted with the game, while still giving veterans plenty to do. Plus, they just added Tekken Bowl to the mix – and you can't go wrong with Tekken Bowl.

Tekken 7 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
