All Ripper Drill Sites In Borderlands 4 (The Best Way to Farm Legendary Gear In Early Game)

In Borderlands 4, the name of the game is getting top-end gear as quickly as possible. Players will earn new loot by doing just about everything, but the best place to pick up great gear relatively early in the game is through Ripper Sites. These boss arenas unlock as you advance through each region and complete the main story. However, using Moxiโ€™s Encore Machine, you can reload them indefinitely to farm up some of the best gear in Borderlands 4 (provided you have enough money). Below, youโ€™ll find a rundown of where to find every Ripper Site and what gear you can pick up by taking down the Site bosses.

Borderlands 4 Ripper Drill Site Map

The map above shows the location of each Ripper Site. You’ll unlock them as you move through the main story, but we’ve listed them all for thoroughness. Early in Borderlands 4, you’ll want to focus your efforts on the three southern Ripper Sites. Below is a full breakdown of every Site, using the numerals from the map to guide you through it.

1) The Prospects

  • Location – Hungering Plain
  • Drill Site Boss – Sidney Pointlegs
  • Notable Loot – Swarm, Disc Jockey, Noisy Cricket

Sidney has three health bars, which means you’ll want to bring several elemental weapons. In order, you’ll use Shock, Incendiary, and then either Corrosive or Cryo as you melt through the boss’s health bars. The Disc Jockey is a fun Heavy Weapon Ordnance that sees your projectiles do more damage as they bounce around the environment.

2) The Pitted Stain

  • Location – Idolator’s Noose
  • Drill Site Bosses – Frank the Furnace, Hank the Welder, and Sal the Engineer
  • Notable Loot – Chuck, Chaumurky, Bloody Lumberjack

This fight puts you up against a trio of enemies. With that in mind, weapons that deal Splash damage can come in handy. Either way, try to keep your distance and use Corrosive and Cryro to burn through their armor and Incendiary for their normal health bar. Chuck is a nifty Tediore rifle that lets you throw a second Gun when you reload.

3) The Old Scrape

  • Location – Cuspid Climb
  • Drill Site Bosses – Saddleback and The Immortal Boneface
  • Notable Loot – Lucian’s Flank, Hellwalker, War Paint

When this fight starts, focus down Saddleback. The Immortal Boneface is immortal until you take down the Meathead. Use a Corrosive/Incendiary combo to take out Saddleback and Shock/Incendiary for Boneface. Lucian’s Flank has the Trample ability, which refills your gun after critical hits. In good hands, you’ll rarely run out of bullets.

4) The Lowering March

  • Location – Stoneblood Forest
  • Drill Site Boss – The Battle Wagon
  • Notable Loot – Kaleidoslode, Finnity XXX-L, Compleation

The Battle Wagon is a massive elephant that has several Rippers riding its back. You’ll want to use Incendiary damage to whittle down the Wagon’s massive health pool, while still doing some damage to the Rippers to keep them off your back. Finnity XXX-L is a sniper rifle that packs a punch thanks to its Pipin’ Hot Barrels ability, which makes it to where you don’t use ammo while overheating.

5) Tendercage

  • Location – Lopside
  • Drill Site Bosses – Pango and Bango
  • Notable Loot – Phantom Flame, Stray, Prince Harming

Pango and Bango can be tough because of their rocket launchers, but you’ll only need Incendiary damage to melt through their health bars. Phantom Flame is a nifty pistol that lets you zoom in on targets to acquire Lock On. Once you’re zeroed in, you can unload the entire magazine with the click of a button, ripping enemies to shreds.

6) Saw’s Clench

  • Location – Ruined Sumplands
  • Drill Site Bosses – Gruntabulous Vork, Baby Grunt, and Lil’ Grunt
  • Notable Loot – Potato Thrower IV, Spinning Blade, Wombo Combo

These three flying bosses are sure to give you trouble your first time through. Use Shock and Incendiary to take down their shields and health bar, but be prepared to dodge their aerial assault. The Wombo Combo is one of the best assault rifles in the game because it automatically fires rockets from the underbarrel every time you shoot, dealing a ton of damage.
