Call Of Duty: WWII Gets Reassembled Live-Action Trailers

Over the years, Activision has produced a number of live-action ads for its Call of Duty games, including superstars like Robert Downey Jr., Jack Black, and a number of others. But for this year’s commercials for Call of Duty: WWII, the company decided to do something a little more effective, and not so much star-driven.

That’s fine by us, because these ads go for more of a “let’s get the players together” sort of vibe, and it pays off in a low-key sort of way. Plus, you never know — we could get another trailer soon that introduces a few A-listers.

For now, enjoy this trio of commercials!

USA

In the first ad for “Reassemble!”, we see a team of players getting together under the usual set of circumstances. The head honcho first makes his way to the office to enlist one of his players, who’s working; and then we see him head to other locations to rack up the rest of the team, including a bar (where some sort of massive fight seems to be happening); a British man’s house (where an older woman is confused for his mom โ€“ no, really, it’s pretty funny); a mother who’s enlisted while showing off against a kid at darts; and, finally, a hot tub, where they bring another player into the fray.

The team then makes a dramatic walk towards what one would expect to be a set of game systems to get their battle on, only to be interrupted by a young kid on a tricycle.

U.K.

There are other versions of “Reassemble!” available as well. For instance, the UK video is above, featuring a different set of cast members that assemble their own gaming crew, including “The Animal,” who’s in the middle of a court hearing; another dude at an office; and more. It’s good fun in its own right, even though the format is generally the same, with a group of gamers gathering, then being interrupted while someone crosses their path (while giving them a bit of a glance). It’s a pretty good ad in its own right, if familiar.

France

And if that isn’t enough, Activision also put together one that features a crew of gamers in France. It’s really going for the international appeal on this one, enlisting a number of male and female players to jump into the action.ย

These trailers are actually a pretty good deal of fun, even without A-list superstars taking part this time around. It focuses more on the variation of multiplayer gamers that take part in the action โ€“ and what we wouldn’t give to assemble a group of ragtag players to kick some butt. Oh, waitโ€ฆwe totally can!

Call of Duty: WWII will release on November 3rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
