We’ve been waiting quite a while to hear what’s up with Tacoma, the latest game from the developers of Gone Home, Fullbright. Fortunately, the team had some good news to deliver during today’s Microsoft press conference at E3, with a release date that isn’t too far off.

Fullbright revealed in a new trailer today that the game would be arriving on August 2nd for both Xbox One and PC, providing fantastic 4K visuals as you explore your way through a surreal space system, dealing with automated characters and locales that will really take your breath away when it comes to exploration.

The game was actually introduced wayyyyyy back in December 2014 during the Video Game Awards, so to say that it’s a very anticipated project would be an understatement, as we’d actually forgot about it for a while. But Fullbright has been quite busy on the game’s development, shaping it together into a worthwhile adventure for both Gone Home fans and science fiction lovers alike to enjoy.

In the trailer, which you can see above, we catch a glimpse of what the adventure is all about, making our way through a majestic yet still mysterious space vessel. The story is still shrouded in secrecy, but any Gone Home fan will tell you that this is a benefit for a Fullbright game, as it really lets you explore and get the idea of scope behind the title.

One thing we do know is that the game will involve holographic-like figures that somehow play a course in the adventure. We’re not sure to what extent just yet, but they appear to have different functions throughout the game. Whether that’s to help you along or hinder your journey has yet to be seen, but we should know more details in the weeks ahead.

Let’s just be excited about the fact that the game is finally coming, and will likely continue the legacy of Fullbright as we know it, far from what the team has already done with Gone Home. We can’t wait to see where this next game takes us โ€“ and what kind of mystery it holds.
