One of the biggest complaints leveled against the Nintendo Switch is its lack of headphone jacks on any of the controllers. When you're playing the Switch docked, you have no way of plugging in headphones, and Bluetooth headphones won't work with the Switch either... Or will they? We just saw a video from NintendoLife explaining how you can use your favorite pair of Bluetooth headphones with the Switch while it's docked or in portable mode. Check it out right here:

Isn't that easy? If you didn't have time to watch the video, here's a quick recap. In order to use your favorite Bluetooth headphones with your Switch, all you need is a simple adapter. You can search for Bluetooth audio transmitters on Amazon, or wherever you hunt for online deals. All you have to do is plug the transmitter into your Nintendo Switch headphone jack, either docked or in portable mode, and you're done. Your Bluetooth headphones will connect to the transmitter, and all of your problems are solved.

There is only one issue which you may encounter, and it's addressed in the video. If you're using a cheaper audio transmitter then you may be dealing with distracting latency. In other words, there may be a delay in what you see happening on screen, and then what you hear happening in your headphones. This can be annoying at best, and can totally ruin your experience at worst.

The best way to avoid latency is to avoid picking up a cheap transmitter. If you're willing to throw down an extra $10-15, there are several solutions out there which claim "low latency" as a feature, and these are the transmitters you're looking for. With a low latency transmitter (like the one we found right here), you're guaranteed an experience that rivals plugging in a pair of headphones directly, and that's something you can stake your money on, or they'll give it right back.

So there you have it! You can use those headphones on the Switch in docked mode after all. This will make online gaming much more comfortable after the Online app launches later this year. Or, perhaps Nintendo will work in a headphone solution with the smartphone app. We'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, this is a viable solution.
