If you’re a hardcore DC Comics nerd, or if you just read WWG regularly, Injustice 2 may seem like one of the biggest games of the year, but will NetherRealm’s latest brawler be a big sales success? It’s not guaranteed.

Injustice: Gods Among Us did well, but it wasn’t exactly a smash hit, selling a little over 3 million copies across PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Wii U. Fighting games remain somewhat niche, and DC Comics stuff just doesn’t attract the same attention as Marvel, so Injustice 2 isn’t an automatic slam dunk.
Thankfully, we have our first indication Injustice 2 may end up doing pretty well for itself. The UK sales charts for the past week have hit, and Injustice 2 has kicked and clawed its way to the top of the list. New VR game Farpoint comes in at #2, while the just-released Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia comes in at #5. Meanwhile, previous chart-topper Mario Kart 8 Deluxe falls back in the pack to #6.

A fighting game hasn’t topped the UK charts in over two years. That game? Mortal Kombat X. Seems the Brits like them some NetherRealm-style ultraviolence.
