You can always be sure you’re going to get plenty of content when you pick up a NetherRealm Studios fighting game, but Injustice 2 goes the extra mile with a full RPG-like gear system. The game offers a lost list of equippable armor, special abilities, and “shaders” that will mix-up a character’s color palate. Oh, and this gear isn’t just aesthetic, it will improve your character’s stats and, in some cases, change how they fight.

So yeah, collecting gear is a big part of the Injustice 2 experience, but, unfortunately, it can sometimes be a bit of a drag. At least it is if you’re searching for a specific piece of gear. Injustice 2 takes a page from games like Overwatch and disperses all its goodies via loot boxes, or rather “Mother Boxes,” which are totally random. Some people enjoy a good grind, but some of us want those awesome-looking max-level Injustice 2 gear sets without devoting our entire lives to the game.

Well, thankfully it turns out there’s a bit of an exploit you can use to collect gear more easily. A big thanks to USGamer for bringing this trick to light!

There are basically two steps to this hack. First, you have to set an AI controlled character loose in Injustice 2‘s Endless Mode. I know what you’re thinking โ€“ “Injustice 2 has an Endless Mode?” Yes, it’s hidden away in the Multiverse Mode. Just choose the small planet to the bottom-right labelled “Battle Simulator” and you should be able to find it.

Endless Mode lets you earn XP and Mother Boxes while fighting an infinite number of opponents, and you can set your character to be AI controlled, which means you can take it easy and let the game earn loot for you! Just one drawback โ€“ you have to push a button to continue after each fight.

Of course, you could just kick back and read a book or play your Nintendo Switch and push a button every couple minutes to move onto the next fight, but what if you wanted to truly automate things? To keep collecting loot while you’re out of the room? Redditor MagicalMuffinMan has found a way to do that, and it doesn’t even require much technical knowhow.

First, you’re going to want to install and setup PS4 Remote Play on your computer or laptop. Here’s a walkthrough on how to do that. Once you’ve got Injustice 2 running remotely, you need to get your computer to push the “continue” button for you while you’re out of the room.

This is also fairly easy. You just have to install AutoHotKey, which lets you program automatic computer inputs. Once you have the app is installed, right click on your desktop, choose “New,” and then choose “AutoHotKey Script.” Use the following script:

#Persistent

SetTimer, PressTheKey, 30000

Return

PressTheKey:

Send, {Enter}

Return

This super-simple script automatically presses the Enter key every 30 seconds, which should let you progress through Injustice 2‘s Endless Mode without even being in the room! While the walkthrough of this trick is specifically for PS4, presumably you can do the same thing with Xbox One remote play.

Injustice 2 is available now on Xbox One and PS4. You can check WWG’s latest coverage of Injustice 2 here, and our extensive back catalog of stories, right here.
