Injustice 2 Livestream Revealing New Patch Today, Are Top-Tier Characters Getting Nerfed?

It’s that time again! Just when you thought that the dust had settled and that you were safe to ease in to one of the established overpowered characters on the Injustice 2 roster, NetherRealm Studios drops by to announce a livestream for the sole purpose of covering a new patch. The stream will air today at 3PM central on the official NetherRealm Twitch channel.

“Tomorrow we talk about the upcoming patch! Hope to see you there!” That was sent yesterday. Tomorrow has come, and it’s time to talk about that patch. People are nervous. Patches bring all kinds of wonderful changes: bugs get squashed, glitches get fixed, things get optimized, and characters get balanced. Generally, balance is seen as a good thing; that is, unless you’re currently dominating online with a top-tier character.

All of the pros and top-tier players are nervous wrecks right now, fearing that they’re going to have to re-program their muscle memory and reformulate their offensive strategies if certain frames, windows, or attack properties get altered in the name of “balance.” The NetherRealm tweet announcing the patch was followed up with a torrent of hilarious fan responses and gifs expressing unshakable dread that the worst kinds of nerfs are on the way.

His range, speed, defensive and zoning abilities, and damage output are just too good to ignore. For most players who plan on hopping online and dominating their opponents, Black Adam stands as one of the most alluring characters to learn and play. There are so many Black Adam mains out there… Are they about to get shocked?

Catwoman Clawing to Stay On Top

Catwoman is another fan favorite, though she finds her place in a few different rungs of the tier list, depending on who you’re talking to. No matter which way you look at it, you can’t deny that she’s hard to pin down and extremely efficient in her combos and mixups. Some players are pretty bitter in that Twitter thread that Catwoman is receiving so much attention lately, since she was largely ignored in the first Injustice. 

This Catwoman player can’t be bothered, though. Catwoman is going to slay one way or another, fam (as long as other characters get nerfed, too, of course).
