New hero shooter LawBreakers launched on PC and PS4, and, in a reversal of the usual trend, the computer version of the game is running smoothly, while the console version is beset with technical issues.
According to numerous players, LawBreakers is experiencing brief gameplay hitches and freezes on the PS4. It doesn’t render the game unplayable, but it’s definitely not ideal in a competitive, twitch-based game like this. A tweet from developer Boss Key seemed to indicate the issue was tied to changing characters/leaving matches, although some have reported issues when not doing either of those things.

PS4 players, we’re aware of a hitching issue when players change roles/leave match. We’re working on a fix ASAP. TY for your understanding.

LawBreakers is one of many games trying to break into the Overwatch-dominated hero shooter market, but this one may have a better chance than most of succeeding, as it’s the brainchild Cliff Bleszinksi, creator of Gears of War. Cliffy B is promising LawBreakers will have all the personality of a game like Overwatch, along with more hardcore action FPS fanatics should appreciate. Let’s hope LawBreakers‘ issues are cleared up quickly so the game has a fighting chance.
LawBreakers is currently available for PC and PS4.
