League of Legends players who have been around for awhile will know that rule No. 1 in the game is to not chase Singed, one of the most frustrating top laners to deal with. Even if you manage to catch up to him and burst him down after a prolonged chase, it probably took more than one player to take him out, and your team likely lost a dragon or a turret somewhere else on the map in the process. But in the PBE, the Mad Chemist is currently having some changes tested, one of the biggest ones being a new passive ability that will make it even more difficult to catch up with him.

We reported recently that Riot Meddler had stated the team would be looking at Singed and his stats in this PBE cycle, and at the time, Meddler stated that the team wanted to look at Singed’s passive ability to see if it could be remade into something that fit the champ a bit better. The current result of those changes is a new passive called Noxious Slipstream, a movement speed ability that speeds Singed up when he’s nearby any champion.

This passive ability will grant Singed 20 percent movement speed for 2 seconds whenever he drifts near a champion. When the passive first hit the PBE a few days ago, it only worked on enemy champions, but the tooltip has recently been updated to reflect that Singed’s passive will trigger off of any champion, ally or enemy.

Noxious Slipstream’s range isn’t large, so Singed will still have to remain in close quarters to activate it, but that’s really right where Singed wants to be. The chemist’s current passive has been labeled as outdated by many Singed enthusiasts. It gives the tank more health based on how much mana he builds, but with many players incorporating mana items less into his build, the passive isn’t quite up to speed with other champ’s abilities.

Singed also received buffs in the form of mana cost reductions and damage increases across his remaining abilities, one of the most notable changes being that his Mega Adhesive ability now also causes enemies to be Grounded to prevent any movement abilities from being used. These changes are all still being tested in the PBE, but changes to Singed are certainly coming in Patch 7.14.
