It's no secret that Riot Games has several League of Legends champions in the works at one time with plenty more ideas for future champs in the pipeline as well, and sometimes players get a hint at these champions through hidden details instead of full-fledged announcements. The idea that Riot might be teasing some new type of Void champion started circulating a few years ago, and with the recent Urgot rework that gave him a new splash for his updated Battlecast Urgot skin shown above has caused the theory to resurface.

If you look at the art for the skin shown above, you'll be able to pick out a few recognizable details. We've got the big boy Urgot, front and center, mowing down some enemies, and jut behind him you can see Battlecast Vel'Koz disintegrating some poor soul, probably a future version of Helmet Bro. But if you look just below Urgot's weapon between two jagged objects, you'll see something flying through the air.

At first glance, it may seem like just a cloud or a puff of smoke, but if you zoom in like the theorist Nortwin did, you'll notice that it has some sort of shape with what appears to be deliberate holes in the wings. Below is a zoomed-in version so you can see for yourself.

It sounds questionable, right? It would definitely be something to ignore if this was the first time it happened, but it's not. Three years ago, the same user found the sneaky image hidden in the splash art for Battlecast Vel'Koz, another Void champion who got the mechanized treatment from Viktor. Look just between Vel'Koz and Viktor, and you'll see the entity in flight. The image is much clearer in this artwork, shown below, and while the same holes in the wings aren't visible here, there's definitely something back there.

So what could the teaser mean? User Nortwin has one explanation.

"Kog'Maw's father," Nortwin said 3 years ago. "Kog'Maw is a larva, therefore his father is an adult moth/butterfly, or anything similiar."

For those who don't know the lore, Kog'Maw is indeed in a small larva form in his race, and one of his taunts does mention that his "daddy" is coming. He's supposed to be some massive being according to the lore though, but Aurelion Sol was in the same situation and he made it onto the Rift just fine.

With Kayn recently revealed and Urgot reworked, it might be a while before anything is heard about this champion, if that's what it is at all, but that doesn't mean it won't show up again.
