The controller shown above is called the Mini Wired Gamepad, an officially licensed controller from Hori, a company that specializes in creating unique gaming accessories. According to a description of the controller that was provided via a PlayStation Blog post where the Mini Wired Gamepad was first announced, it appears that the controller is being marketed towards younger gamers. It’s smaller, easier to grip, and looks like it’ll be a perfect plug-and-play option for families with young gamers who want to quickly join in games.
Of course, with how different the controller is compared to others, it’ll likely be an easy addition to most PlayStation fans’ collections all the same, considering how cheap it is.
The Mini Wired Gamepad’s Features

The Mini Wired Gamepad won’t include all of the features that the typical DualShock 4 controller has, but it’ll still include the essentials necessary for your gaming fix.
It has a 10-foot cord attached to the controller, so you won’t be gaming across the room, but it still allows for some flexibility. Some of the features that it lacks compared to the normal controller include a touch pad, light bar, stereo headset jack, speaker, vibration, or motion sensing. It’s definitely missing a couple of components that PlayStation 4 owners might get with the base controller, but if you’re paying the $29.99 price for this, you’re likely doing it do add the neat controller to your collection or to firmly establish who player two is in your household.
You can purchase the Mini Wired Gamepadย here through the PlayStation store.
