In just a few hours, Pokemon Go will unleash a handful of new Pokemon into its game. Sableye, Shuppet, Banette, Duskull, and Dusclops will all start spawning as part of the upcoming Halloween stats, giving many players their first opportunity to catch a new Pokemon in several months.

Yesterday, Pokemon Go developers updated the game’s code to include movesets and base catch rates. While Pokemon Go didn’t add any new moves to the game, several of the Pokemon have rarely seen move combinations that could give them some utility in battle.
For the record, Shuppet and Duskull will be twice as easy to catch as Sableye, Banette, and Dusclops, with a 40% base capture rate. However, there’s a slightly higher chance that those two Pokemon will flee (10%) compared to the other Ghost-Types (7%).
So, which Pokemon will be most useful in Raid Battles? We’ve got the scoop below:
Sableye

Max CP: 1305
Fast Moves: Shadow Claw, Feint Attack
Charge Moves: Power Gem, Foul Play, Shadow Sneak
Sableye is an interesting Pokemon in the main series games as its only weak to Fairy-Type attacks, which gives it a lot of utility especially after it Mega Evolves. Unfortunately, none of Sableye’s strengths really translate to Pokemon Go, as its lack of weaknesses can easily be overcome by brute force. While Sableye has the rarely seen Ghost-Type move Shadow Sneak, there’s really nothing this Pokemon brings to the table to give it any use in either gym battles or raids.
Shuppet and Banette

Shuppet
Max CP: 872
Fast Moves: Astonish, Feint Attack
Charge Moves: Ominous Wind, Night Shade, Shadow Sneak
Banette
Max CP: 2073
Fast Moves: Shadow Claw, Hex
Charge Moves: Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Thunder
Banette is potentially the most intriguing Pokemon of all the new additions inย Pokemon Go, thanks to its Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball move combination. Shadow Claw has the highest “Damage per second” stat of any Fast Ghost-Type move, but to date only Haunter (and Typhlosion) has been able to learn it, which has largely blunted its effectiveness. Likewise, Shadow Ball is the strongest Ghost-Type Charge move, so Banette has (for now) the strongest Ghost-Type move combination in the game.
When coupled to its non-weakness to Psychic-Type attacks, Banette has some viability as a secondary attacker in raids against Mewtwo or Alakazam.

Duskull and Dusclops

Duskull
Max CP: 523
Fast Moves: Astonish, Hex
Charge Moves: Ominous Wind, Night Shade, Shadow Sneak
Dusclops
Max CP: 1325
Fast Moves: Feint Attack, Hex
Charge Moves: Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Shadow Punch
Dusclops is really a work in progress in Pokemon Go. Dusclops picks up another evolution in “Gen 4,” so players shouldn’t be too put off by its poor moveset and low CP. After all, its CP is only a couple hundred lower than Haunter, which eventually evolves into the strongest Ghost-Type Pokemon in Pokemon Go. Dusclops is a Pokemon that you’ll want to hoard candy for, but its usefulness will be limited in the current game.
