The newest bundle includes the PlayStation virtual reality headset as well as a PlayStation Camera all wrapped up together for $399, a deal that’s $100 less than the previous cost of the PlayStation VR Worlds bundle that’s scheduled to receive a price drop as well. Sony’s newest PS VR bundle appears to be limited to North America when it releases on Sept. 1.
Considering the PS VR headset by itself currently retails at $399 the new PS VR bundle essentially gives players a free PlayStation Camera included in the cost. Moving forward, the new bundle that’s releasing soon is planned to be the core bundle that’ll be pushed instead of the current available bundles.
The PlayStation VR Worlds bundle that many potential PS VR owners have likely eyed for a while is also receiving a price cut, though it might not be quite enough to push players towards that bundle as opposed to the new one. Originally priced at $499, the cost of the Worlds bundle that comes with two PlayStation Move controllers and the PlayStation VR Worlds game has been lowered to $449.
As suggested in the announcement post about the VR headset that came from the PlayStation Blogs, the new PS VR bundle is a slightly more attractive option for players who have yet to jump into the world of VR. But even with the new deal and the cheaper price of the existing bundle, some players might still be apprehensive to take the VR plunge due to a lack of games.
