It's funny how new details revolving around Star Wars: Battlefront II continue to come out at a rapid pace. But then, it's expected, as the sequel is likely to be one of EA's biggest hits this holiday season.

Last week, we talked about the new Arcade mode coming to the game, and this week, it's all about the forthcoming beta, which kicks off in just a few days. And, man, did EA pour on the new details about what to expect.

First off, there's a new trailer, and though it's a bit on the brief side, it does show what you'll be able to do in terms of battling, as well as what to expect from the full game.

Next up, EA provided details on the beta, and there will be a lot you'll be able to do. First up, you'll be able to charge into the battle of Naboo, which will be quite familiar to fans of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Here, you'll take on heroes from all Eras, including Darth Maul (who's right at home with this territory) and Rey from The Force Awakens. You'll be able to earn in-game battle points to summon the heroes and call in reinforcements should the situation call for it. (And it might)

In addition, you'll also get to try out Starfighter Assault mode an take to the unfriendly skies as you attempt to destroy or defend an Imperial Star Destroyer, using a number of iconic vehicles in the game. This will spread across all the trilogies, so you'll have quite a selection.

Lastly, the Strike mode at Maz Kanata's castle (from The Force Awakens) will be available, class based with straight-up battling. There won't be that many heroes, but it'll still pack a punch when it comes to taking on friends.

The beta kicks off on October 4th for those who pre-ordered the game, but it'll be open to everyone on October 6th and run through the 9th for everyone. It's on all platforms, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and if you're taking the PC route, you'll find the necessary specs below!
