Star Wars Battlefront II Trailer Reveals Arcade Mode, Play as Darth Maul in the Upcoming Beta

Today we have a brand new Star Wars Battlefront II trailer, which introduces Arcade Mode for the very first time. The trailer is narrated by none other than Finn himself, and serves as the perfect overview for newer fans, with hordes of new gameplay footage for the hardcore fans who have been following this long-awaited sequel since it was a revealed. It was also revealed today on the PlayStation Blog that the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II beta will include Arcade Mode. In addition to being among the first to play a brand new game mode, players in the beta will also get the opportunity to take control of the legendary Darth Maul, ripping and flipping through waves of AI-controlled opponents.

"Arcade is a new mode allowing you to take on AI enemies and hone your skills across a variety of scenarios. In the Beta, you'll have two options: a 10-on-10 team battle with AI allies and enemies, and a Hero vs. many scenario where you'll take control of Darth Maul and fight against legions of foes on Naboo.

"The Beta will provide a small taste of Arcade on the Theed map, but the full version will have you test your wits and reflexes in all three eras of Star Wars. Teamed up with AI-controlled allies, you'll arm yourself with your favorite assortment of weapons and abilities, carefully tailoring your loadout for the battle ahead. In the full release, you'll be able to bring the Star Cards, weapons, and unlocked abilities from multiplayer with you into Arcade."

You may have also noticed in the trailer that Star Wars Battlefront II will feature a heroes vs. villains mode, for those of you who want to team up with your friends to recreate some legendary duels from the films. Of course, if you just want to see what it would be like if Boba Fett and Rey came face to face, you can create some more fantastical match-ups as well!

Anyone who pre-orders Star Wars Battlefront II before October 1 will secure an early spot in the beta, which begins on October 4. The beta will open up to the public two days later on October 6, and conclude on October 9.

Star Wars Battlefront II launches on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned for more coverage.
