Xbox Game Pass games for September are off to a great start and continue the biggest trend of Xbox Game Pass in 2025: day one games. So far, three of the top 10 highest-rated games of 2025 have been day one Xbox Game Pass: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor. The first two of this trio of games are actually the highest-rated and second-highest-rated games of 2025. So perhaps it should come as no surprise that we have another Xbox Game Pass day one game, one of which is another Game of the Year contender.

This game is Hollow Knight: Silksong. However, this week, another game was added to Xbox Game Pass alongside Hollow Knight: Silksong. It is not a day-one game, but it’s the first time it has been made available with Xbox Game Pass, and it has higher ratings than Hollow Knight: Silksong. This mystery game is I Am Your Beast.
User Review Scores
Hollow Knight: Silksong, a long-awaited sequel, has been getting all the attention this week, including from Xbox Game Pass subscribers. It is one of the biggest releases of the year, as evidenced by its incredible player count. Many are playing it, but are they enjoying it? Well, Hollow Knight: Silksong does not have a Metacritic score yet, but it does have a Steam User Review score already, and this user review score is lower than I Am Your Beast. While Hollow Knight: Silksong has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, thanks to a 93% approval rating, a very good return, this is actually lower than I Am Your Beast, which has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating thanks to a staggering 98% approval rating.
As noted, Hollow Knight: Silksong does not currently have a Metacritic score, and as a result, a Metacritic score comparison can not currently be made. The expectation is that it will score very highly, and higher than I Am Your Beast’s range of 77 to 85; however, it’s unlikely it will make up the ground on the user review front.
About I Am Your Beast
I Am Your Beast, for those who have never heard of it or aren’t familiar with its more granular details, is a first-person shooter that actually debuted back in 2024, via Steam, but it only came to Xbox consoles this summer. Much like Hollow Knight: Silksong, it is the result of an independent effort. To this end, developer Strange Scaffold both developed and published it.
In the game, you play as secret agent Alphonse Harding, who is being hunted across the wilderness by the military-industry complex. The aforementioned Strange Scaffold specifically pitches it as a “shortform covert revenge thriller FPS.”
All of that said, and as always, feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you think. Meanwhile, if neither of these games tickles your fancy, you may want to check out a recently added Ubisoft game that Xbox Game Pass subscribers have been loving.
