Spider-Man: Homecoming is shaping up to be the Avengers event of the season. We already know that Iron Man will be appearing, and there are rumors that Captain America may show up as well. Now it sounds like Black Widow may be stopping by Queens for a chat with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
Last week, ComicBook.com was tipped off to Scarlett Johansson’s presence in the Atlanta area where Spider-Man: Homecoming is filming, but was unable to confirm the reports. Now the Atlanta Filming Twitter account, which keeps tabs on such things, has posted a somewhat vague message that seems to confirm Johansson is in the area. The tweet reads, “Well, well…hi Scarlett. What’cha doing here.”

The tweet does not offer any visual evidence that Johansson is in the area, but combined with what ComicBook.com was told previously, it certainly sounds like there’s another spider climbing into the Homecoming web.
The Atlanta Filming Twitter account has posted shots from the Spider-Man: Homecoming set before, so it has some credibility in these matters. However, even if Johansson is present on set, it doesn’t necessarily mean she’ll appear in the film. Marvel cinematic universe stars making set visits to other Marvel films they’re not directly involved with isn’t unheard of. If Johansson is in the film, it could be just a cameo rather than a large role. We’re hoping for the latter, mostly because a sequence of Black Widow teaching Peter Parker how to fight properly sounds like too much fun.
