Marvel Television and ABC have officially announced that the Inhumans are coming to television.

The new ABC series will be the first television series to debut in IMAX theaters, with the two-part series premiere coming to theaters weeks before the series debuts on ABC.
The Inhumans as a concept have already been introduced into Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on ABC. However, Marvel’s The Inhumans will focus on the most well-known Inhumans in the Marvel Universe, the Inhumans Royal Family.
But who exactly makes up the Inhuman Royal Family? Here’s a rundown of the most important Inhuman characters in the Marvel Universe.
Black Bolt
Full name: Blackagar Boltagon
Black Bolt is the king of the Inhumans. His Inhuman ability is both a blessing and a curse. The Terrigen Mist granted him an immenselyย destructive hypersonic voice capable of a mass destruction even at a whisper level.
That kind of destructive power is a great deterrent towards possible threats to Black Bolt’s kingdom, but also makes it difficult to communicate with his people. Balt Bolt underwent vigorous mental training in order to maintain control over his voice so that he would not utter a word even in his sleep, and he and his wife obtained a level of intimacy such that she could understand him without the need for speech.
Black Bolt wears a tuning fork on his forehead that helps focus his voice on a single target when he deems it necessary to make his voice heard.

Medusa
Full Name:ย Medusalith Amaquelin Boltagon
Medusa is queen of the Inhumans and both the cousin and wife of Black Bolt. She debuted in the Marvel Comics Universe as a member fo the Frightful Four, foes of the Fantastic Four. She later joined the Fantastic Four itself.
Medusa’s Terrigenesis granted her prehensile hair, which she can use to deadly effect in combat.
Since the events ofย Infinity in the Marvel Comics Universe, Medusa has been estranged from her husband, recently entering a relationship with the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch, and has taken over leadership of the Inhumans.
Medusa and Black Bolt have a son, Prince Ahura.

Crystal
Full name:ย Crystallia Amaquelin Maximoff
Crystal is the younger sister of Medusa. Her Terrigenesis transformation granted her the abilityย to manipulate the four classical elements – earth, wind, water, and fire.
Early in the Marvel Universe, Crystal had a relationship with the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch. She eventually married Quicksilver of the Avengers, but the two divorced. They have one daughter together, Luna Maximoff.
Current events in the Marvel Comics Universe see Crystal taking a leadership position in the public eye. While Medusa reigns from the safety of New Attilan, Crystal leads a team from the traveling ship called the Royal Inhuman Vessel as ambassadors to Nuhumans transformed by the Terrigen Mist cloud.
Gorgon
Full Name: Gorgon Petragon
Gorgon is the cousin of Black Bolt and Medusa. The Terrigen Mist gave him powerful, bulllike legs. When he stomps those legs, he can create shockwaves capable of creating earthquakes.
Gorgon has traditionally acted a bodyguard to his king, Black Bolt, and as a mentor for other young Inhumans recently transformed by the Terrigen Mists.
Gorgon was paralyzed for a time after being shot in the spine by a Nuhuman named Lineage. Even though he was unable to use his powers, he joined Crystal’s mission of welcoming other Nuhumans into the Inhuman fold. One such Nuhuman, Panaceum, was able to cure his paralysis, allowing him to use his powers again.

Karnak
Full name: Karnak Mander-Azur
Karnak is the cousin of Black Bolt. He is unique among the Inhuman Royal Family in that he has never undergone Terrigenesis, choosing to forgo the process at his parents’ behest after his brother, Triton, suffered a particularly extreme Terrigenesis transformation.
Instead, Karnak was sent to a monastery where he trained in the martial arts. He became a master and has the ability to see the flaw in anything, be it a standing structure or an opponent’s plan.
He is both a priest and a philosopher among the Inhumans. He often acts as Black Bolt’s advisor or strategist,ย using his ability to find flaws to aid his king’s plans, and is also fierce in hand-to-hand combat.

Triton
Full Name: Triton Mander-Azur
Triton is Karnak’s brother, whose transformation was so extreme that his parents begged Karnak not to undergo Terrigenesis himself.
Triton’s Terrigenesis turned him into a fish-like humanoid. His skin is nowย green and he can breathe underwater and survive the extremely cold temperatures and pressure of the deep ocean.
The side effect is that he can longer survive on land without the assistance of technology.
During recent events unfolding as part ofย Civil War II, Triton has made a questionable alliance with Maximus the Mad and is operating outside of Medusa’s orders. The ultimate goal of he and Maximus’s schemes remain unknown.
Lockjaw
Full name: Lockjaw
Lockjaw is a bulldog-like Inhuman with the ability to teleport vast distances. His services have been vital to the Inhuman Royal Family throughout the years and their many struggles.
The truth of Lockjaw’s origins are unclear. At times, he has been treated like a humanoid who was transformed into a bulldog like creature via Terrigenesis. That fact is supposedly what convinced Quicksilver to keep his and Crystal’s daughter, Luna, from being exposed to the Terrigen Mists.
However, Quicksilver later told X-Factor that the idea that Lockjaw was ever human and able to understand speech was just a ruse put on to fool the Thing.ย
Either way, Lockjaw has been intrumental in hunting downt he Infinity Gems on multiple occasions, and even led his own team, the Pet Avengers.

Maximus the Mad
Full name: Maximus Boltagon
No royal family in fiction is complete without a black sheep to cause some drama. That’s where Maximus the Mad comes in.
Maximus the Mad is the brother of Black Bolt. As tends to be the case with younger princes, Maximus feels that he should be the one to rule over the Inhumans. He has frequently tried to take the throne from Black Bolt by force.
Maximus is particularly dangerous because he is both a genius and has a powerful Inhuman gift. He was naturally gifted with the ability to invent all manner of powerful machines. Terrigenesis gave him additional mental abilities, including mind control.
