Rosario Dawson Filming Scenes For Luke Cage Season 2

Marvel and Netflix continue their fruitful partnership with the first team up between their stable of heroes in Defenders later this summer, but fans will also get to see the individual characters continue their solo adventures.

Luke Cage is currently filming its first week of Season 2 with Mike Colter reprising the titular role. Recent photos from the set might reveal some spoilers for Defenders, and they might be slightly upsetting based on your ‘shipping’ preferences.

If you’re hoping for Defenders to rekindle the comic-accurate relationship between Cage and Jessica Jones, well, unfortunately these photos aren’t what you want to see. But for those who are on board with Claire Temple and Cage’s romance, you’ll like these.

Rosario Dawson was spotted on the Luke Cage set with Colter and the two characters are getting partaking in some serious canoodling—people still use that word, right? Or necking? Macking? Let’s just say, sucking face.

It looks like Dawson is continuing her role as the connective tissue of the Defenders‘ corner of the MCU. And though the events of Defenders will likely put the characters through the ringer, it’s comforting to see love end up on top.

But the comic stickler in us kind of wants Jones and Cage reunite, make a baby, and see that time traveling baby come to the past as the future version of Captain America. Does Netflix have the chutzpah to get that weird and comic book-y? We doubt it, but that’s kind of what makes the series great.

So long as they continue to tell great stories, we’re cool with what they do. Long Live Cluke!
