If you’re going to pose as Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, you best have some creative answers ready for Guardians Vol. 2 director James Gunn.

That’s what one impersonator on Instagram learned after he sent Gunn a message, posing as the Marvel Studios honcho. Gunn saw right through it, but thanks to sheer boredom, he decided to have some fun with it.
Gunn said “The other night some kid pretending to be Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, contacted me on Instagram. As I was watching a TV show I wasn’t particularly involved him, and as I have the maturity of a twelve year old, I decided to troll him.”
What follows is comedic gold, as Gunn goes all in by talking about “secret” projects that Feige would obviously know of. The impersonator does well at the beginning, even handling the proposed “beheading of Groot” in Guardians Vol. 3. Once Gunn alludes to a Venom cameo in Homecoming though, he challenges, and from there Gunn starts quizzing him relentlessly.
Gunn shared the entire conversation, which you can see here in the gallery. The best part has to be though when Fake Feige says “I’m calling a meeting”, to which Gunn snaps back “No I’m calling a meeting”. It was like a Michael Scott scenario in real life.
Gunn’s latest is in theaters now, and you can find the synopsis for the film below.
