Jim Carrey Wants to Work with Marvel

If Marvel is looking for a new superhero story to tell then they may want to give Jim Carrey a call.

Carrey spoke with The Hollywood Reporter while he was at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting his new documentary Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – The Story of Jim Carrey & Andy Kaufman Featuring a Very Special Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton. The conversation focused on the actor's more recent unusual behavior at Fashion Week events and interviews, but when the subject of his acting roles came around, Carrey had some specific ideas about what he'd like to do, even if the characters don't exist.

"If Marvel wants me to... Neurotic Man! Man That Doesn't Exist!" Carrey said.

Carrey, who also said that he's not particularly interested in doing sequels, has sort of worked with Marvel before and, ironically enough, that work was on a sequel. Carrey played Colonel Stars and Stripes in 2013's Kick-Ass 2. While that film isn't part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and wasn't made by Marvel Studios, Mark Millar’s “Kick-Ass 2” and “Hit-Girl” comics the film was based on were published by Marvel Comics.

As for what Neurotic Man might look like, Colonel Stars and Stripes isn't Carrey's first foray into comic book territory. He starred as Riddler in 1995's Batman Forever.
