The casting call, posted by Central Casting Georgia, is for “Cherry Blue,” the production title of Ant-Man and the Wasp, and asks “for men and women of all ages who can portray Argentinean locals for a park scene taking place in 1987.”

That the scene takes place in 1987 is interesting because that just happens to be the year that Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp, was lost in the Quantum Realm while trying to disarm a Soviet missile, as seen in the first Ant-Man movie.

Fan already knew that Janet Van Dyne would be making an appearance in Ant-Man in the Wasp because Michelle Pfeiffer was cast to play the role in the sequel. However, this new casting call suggests they may actually get see her in a flashback before she was lost or perhaps see that event again but from her own perspective.

It is possible that the year in more coincidental than that, or that the flashback is intended to show another event that was transpiring around the same time, but it seems more likely that a flashback scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp will be focused on Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Not much is known about the specific plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp yet beyond the fact that it will feature Pfeiffer as Janet and that Hope Van Dyne, Janet’s daughter, will suit up as the new Wasp to carry on her mother’s legacy.

However, some set photos and videos have given us glimpses of things to come, including the Marvel villain Ghost and a Giant-Man scene.
