It’s official: the critics are LOVING Black Panther.

This morning, the review embargo for Marvel’s Black Panther was lifted, and write-ups on the film took over social media. Like other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this picture is getting rave reviews. However, unlike the rest of the franchise, not a single critic has posted a negative review.
Rotten Tomatoes has started compiling the Black Panther reviews to formulate the infamous “Tomatometer” score. At the time of writing this article, 46 reviews have been counted on the site. All 46 reviews are positive.
Now, over the course of the next several weeks, a couple hundred reviews of Black Panther will likely be added to the site and, statistically speaking, it’s unlikely that it will remain at 100 percent. Films like Get Out and Lady Bird this past year were adored by critics, but even they had at least one who jumped in late with a negative review.
Still, it looks as though Black Panther could take the crown as the most well-reviewed movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Rotten Tomatoes standards. The first Iron Man movie currently boasts the best score of the franchise, sitting at 94 percent. There is a three-way tie for second place, with Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Marvel’s The Avengers all scoring a 92 percent.
ComicBook.com’s own Brandon Davis reviewed the film, giving it 4 out of 5 stars and saying, “Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa is set to take on the mantle of King with the support of some incredibly well written and acted, often superior female characters and Marvel’s most entertaining villain to date.”
