Ant-Man And The Wasp Casting Call Contains Possible Civil War Connection

Ant-Man and the Wasp kicked off filming earlier this summer, and new details about its production have got fans looking back to Captain America: Civil War.

Omega Underground posted a recent article documenting a casting call for Ant-Man and the Wasp, and it contains a possible nod to the recent MCU blockbuster. The film is looking to hire extras who can play prisoners and prison guards. You can check out the full casting call out below:

The extras are needed to film at the end of August, and MCU sleuths are wondering if the prison requests nod at a particular Civil War location. It has been awhile, but The Raft could make a return in the Ant-Man sequel.

The water-locked prison was introduced back in Civil War as General Thaddeus Ross locked up Captain America's team in the prison after their airport ambush. Steve Rogers wound up getting his comrades out of the brig, but Ross will no doubt want to round-up the AWOL superheroes again, so the Ant-Man sequel will follow Scott Lang as he goes on the run.

There's no telling how prisoners may be used in the sequel, but fans are hoping it does tie back to The Raft. Lang does have a criminal history, so the hero could wind up in jail (again) or experience some flashbacks, but fans have reason to think Ant-Man will be chased by a threat that's bigger than county jail. After all, Marvel Studios confirmed Randall Park will play Jimmy Woo in the movie, so the federal agent could be gunning for the fugitive to pacify Ross and the UN in a post-Civil War world.

For now, fans will have to wait and see what kind of fallout Ant-Man and the Wasp will be forced to navigate in light of Lang's prison breakout. A full synopsis for the film was recently released, giving fans their first-look at what the sequel will all entail. You can check out the description below:

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: "Ant-Man and The Wasp." In the aftermath of "Captain America: Civil War," Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he's confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
