With an alternate history comes different choices, which also leads to the return of characters that met a fatal fate.
While we already know that Brett Dalton is reprising his role as the villainous Grant Ward, Hydra agent and one-time host to the godlike-Inhuman entity Hive, new reports indicate that another long-dead Agent could be coming back to the show.
SHIELD SPECULATION: Is Radcliffe Fitz’s Father?
Based on an updated IMDb listing, we could see the return of BJ Britt as Agent “Trip” Antoine Triplett.
The listing in question is for episode 18 of the series, the third in this ‘pod’ of episodes, which lists the casting of Eric Watson, a martial artist and stunt double.
In the listing, he is credited to be the stunt double for Britt, who is not listed in the credits.
It could be a mistake, and all IMDb listings should be taken with a grain of salt before they are released.
But with all of the characters entered into the Framework, a parallel reality where mistakes are corrected, a lot of possibilities are on the table. It’s the storytelling device behind Ward’s return. So Trip once again teaming with the Agents could be in the cards.
It would allow Chloe Bennet’s Daisy to come to terms with guilt over his passing, since her Inhuman transformation resulted in the character’s death in the first place.
We’ll find out more when Agents of SHIELD returns.
