Concept art gives fans a peek inside the process of character design, and the latest reveals what Black Panther might have looked like in Captain America: Civil War.

Artist Andy Park worked on Civil War, a film that featured the debut of both Spider-Man and Black Panther. Both were incredibly well received, but there was another vision for Panther’s costume that embraced more textures and armor lines.
It has a more hi-tech feel than the costume Marvel ended up going with for Civil War, and Park couldn’t be happier about their choice.
Park shared an image of the costume, saying “This was an alternate concept design I painted up for #CaptainAmericaCivilWar They did such a good job introducing this character into the MCU. I remember watching it for the 1st time & thinking what a great job they did with the character. I can’t wait until February!”
It doesn’t look as if many changes were made to Panther’s costume from Civil War, but you can see what could’ve been in the photo up above.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters now. Spider-Man: Homecoming lands on July 7, 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
