The scene is an early cut from the film’s climactic airport battle scene. Captain America is being pursued by War Machine but gets a little help from his old friend Bucky. The Winter Soldier takes up Cap’s shield and slings it as War Machine. Seeing the results, Bucky notes that he should really get his own shield.
Comic book fans will likely get a special kick out the dialog, remember that Steve Rogers was killed following the events of the Civil War comic book series. After Steve was laid to rest, Captain America’s mantle and shield were passed down to โ you guessed it โ Bucky Barnes.
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two campsโone led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, The film stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Daniel Brรผhl.
