There are few things off limits when it comes to the Merc With The Mouth. But while Deadpool is known to skewer his colleagues in the X-Men franchise, the movie version has yet to really lambast some of the friendlier competitors.

Although the first set photo from Deadpool 2 might change that rivalry as the character appears to be mocking Marvel Studios next major release. Check out the photo comparison below and let us know what you think.

In case you missed it, Ryan Reynolds shared the first photo from the set of Deadpool 2 on his Instagram page where he’s clad in his onscreen costume, splayed on the ground in front of the X-Men’s infamous mansion.

But the photo also appears to be mocking the official poster for Spider-Man: Homecoming.

There are a lot of similarities between Deadpool and the Wallcrawler, and they even co-starred alongside each other in their own Marvel Comics series. But Spider-Man is decidedly PG while Deadpool tends to test the boundaries. His movie version goes well beyond those boundaries.

It wouldn’t be unheard of to see Deadpool outright making fun of Spider-Man, even in the realm of behind-the-scenes movie production photographs. It could just be a coincidence, but given how “on point” Reynolds tends to be about these things, we highly doubt that, especially with Spider-Man: Homecoming just weeks away from releasing in theaters.

Deadpool 2 is still over a year away from hitting theaters, but the movie is now in production in Canada.

Spider-Man: Homecoming releases in theaters July 7.
