Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2.: Baby Groot Visits Marvel

James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer beyond impressed, but it’s hard to argue that the best part of the new footage revolved around a certain tiny ancient tree.

The antics of Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot will no doubt be a big part of the upcoming Marvel Studios film, and fan reactions are immensely positive from the footage released thus far. The staff over at Marvel feels the same way about the adorable hero, and Marvel co-president and producer Louis D’Esposito posted a new picture on his Twitter account after they got a visit from him.

As you can imagine, the comments afterward were all “Where can I get him!”, but this version is most likely a production maquette or along those lines. It won’t be long though before fans start seeing Baby Groot merchandise litter the store shelves, and you know Hot Toys is already working on their own version, so fans will definitely have their chance to add him to their collections.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
