When it comes to Netflix’s growing Marvel franchise, there is one character keeping its fabric together. The complicated universe will soon be spread across four separate series, but Rosario Dawson‘s no-nonsense piece in the franchise quite literally stitches it together. The actress first appeared back when Daredevil debuted, and Dawson’s take on Claire Temple has been used to connect the series to Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and so on.

At the end of this week, fans will finally learn what role Claire is filling when it comes to Iron Fist. The fourth Netflix title will follow Marvel’s mystical martial arts master as he returns to New York following a lengthy stay in the strange city of K’un Lun. When Danny Rand does come back home, his status as the Iron Fist will inevitably mix him up in a few fights. And, as always, Claire will be there to patch up the make-shift vigilante.
However, that doesn’t mean she has to be happy about it.
In an exclusive clip from IGN, fans can watch as Claire has one of her first encounters with Iron Fist. The scene is set in the nurse’s new home, and Claire is shown bandaging a nasty wound on Danny’s torso. She tells him the cut could easily get infected, but when Danny asks for medicine, Claire laughs. She simply tell him that he is not the first wannabe superhero to clean out her antibiotic stash – and then she lets him borrow an old shirt which belonged to Luke Cage.
