There’s been some speculation about what the cast of Twentieth Century Fox’s X-Men movies will look like after X-Men: Apocalypse, since the stars of the prequel trilogy – Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Nicholas Hoult – are all due for contract renegotiation.
While Larence originally seemed to be dead set on leaving the franchise once Apocalypse was finished. More recently, she seems to have had a change of heart, saying she’s “dying to come back” for more X-Men movies.
McAvoy tells French outlet L’internaute that Lawrence has always seemed open to the idea of returning when speaking to him about it.
"Yeah, I’ve heard…people have said she’s not into it, stuff like that,” McAvoy said. “She’s always said to me that she would think about it. So yeah, that sounds great. I hope she does, because I love working with Jennifer. You know, we’ve been like an extended sort of family, in a weird way, for six or seven years now,” he said. “Every two years, we get back together and hang out making a movie, then in six months’ time or a year’s time, we all go on the road promoting it, and we see each other again. I’d be really said not to see her every couple of years.
McAvoy went on to say that he’s also open to returning for future X-Men movies.
“If they want me to, I’ll do more, yeah.”
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
