Right now, Josh Brolin is living the life which every comic book fans has dreamt of. The legendary actor is working on one of Marvel Studios’ most ambitious films to date thanks to Avengers: Infinity War. The actor, who plays Thanos, will finally see the Mad Titan stretch his villainous muscles as he becomes the MCU’s biggest baddie to date. If that weren’t enough, news also recently broke that Brolin had been cast as Cable in Deadpool 2, leaving the actor’s hands full with prime Hollywood power. Now, Brolin is getting in serious shape for both of his comic book roles – and the actor isn’t afraid to talk trash about some of his on-screen opponents.

Taking to Instagram, Brolin shared a new video of him working out with a trainer, and the actor’s arms are looking swole. The actor may be nearing his 50s, but Brolin’s bulging biceps make him look like a man in his prime. The video focuses on Brolin as he undergoes a difficult arm day at the gym, and the star’s Instagram caption tells fans just how serious Brolin is about his workouts.
“Sit inside the muscle, grow it, Imagine it germinating into its conclusive state. Then turn around and kick the f*cker who keeps trying to hold your shoulders down,” Brolin wrote before adding a series of hashtags. Some of the social media markers said, “The Hulk ain’t s*it,” “Deadpool,” “Thanos,” and “I am built.”
If that isn’t a challenge, then what is? Cable may not get a chance to go up against the Hulk thanks to film rights, but Thanos will surely get to showdown with the green beast. Much of Thanos is brought to life via CGI in the MCU, but Brolin is always in the background providing motion capture for the character in the same way Mark Ruffalo does for the Hulk. So, in the coming months, the two actors might get the chance to throw down with one another.
This isn’t the first time Brolin has shared a video of his workouts for Deadpool 2 or Avengers: Infinity War. Taking to Instagram, the actor previously shared a picture of him massive arms during a weight lifting session. The photo included the following caption:
“Cable’s coming, growing from the inside,” Brolin wrote. “Clean building from a past of donut travel to the present hard case that he is. No sugar. No bread. No pastas. The machine is being built. I’m pissed off.”
The Deadpool sequel, which is being directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde) and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin filming at the end of this spring. The film will introduce Deadpool’s time-traveling mutant partner, Cable, as well as X-Force member Domino, who is being portrayed by Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz. Supporting characters from the original film โ such as Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and taxi driver Dopinder (Karan Soni) โ are also expected to return.
