MCU Phase 4 Movies Ranked

In 2019, Marvel Studios unveiled its slate of films throughout Phase 4. It is unclear if the slate unveiled in Hall H was all of Phase 4 or if titles which came later like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Marvels are a part of the same phase or if they will be launching Phase 5. Some clarity on the subject might be presented at San Diego Comic-Con later this month. However, the 2019 presentation featured Thor: Love and Thunder as the last title announced and now the fourth Thor film has been released. With all of the titles from 2019’s Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con having been released, it is time to rank them with Phase Zero!

Black Widow was the first film released for Phase 4, following Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home (which was billed as an epilogue to Phase 3 and the Infinity Saga) after delays throughout 2020. Widow was followed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which was followed by Eternals which was followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home, completing the 2021 slate of movies. 2022 has now seen the releases of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. Sony’s Morbius is not included in the ranking as it is not an MCU film. The Phase Zero podcast capped off an exciting freshman year in 2021. All of those boxes have been checked and more, with more than 1.2 million listeners across all platforms in 2021! 

Throughout 2022, Phase Zero has continued to innovate its content and provide a fun, welcoming environment for all fans. Exclusive interviews with Moon Knight executive producer Grant Curtis, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness costume designer Graham Churchyard, Marvel Studios prop master Russell Bobbitt, and Venom director Ruben Fleischer have been featured in Season 2, along with a trivia episode, a dive into plot holes, and anticipation rankings!

Throughout 2021, Phase Zerofeatured live interviews with many members of the Marvel Studios family. WandaVision director Matt Shakman, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier director Kari Skogland, Loki director Kate Herron, Marvel Studios head of visual development Andy Park, Thanos and Shang-Chi co-creator Jim Starlin, The Visions comic writer Tom King, What If…?‘s creative team of A.C. Bradley and Bryan Andrews, Eternals producer Nate Moore, Avengers: Endgame cameo-maker (and ESPN’s fantasy football expert) Matthew Berry, Hawkeye‘s Tracksuit Mafia actors Carlos Navarro, Aleks Paunovic, and Piotr Adamczyk, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu and director Destin Daniel Cretton joined the show live. Extended pre-recorded interviews with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, Black Widow writer Eric Pearson, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis were also featured!

Other celebrity guests included NFL Pro Bowler and Pittsburgh Steelers player Cam Heyward, TikTok star Supes, Flora & Ulysses director Lena Khan, and NXT wrestler Johnny Gargano. The show is hosted and produced by Brandon Davis, with all-star co-hosts Jenna Anderson, Aaron Perine, and Jamie Jirak.
