MCU Phase 5 Hype Rankings Revealed | Phase Zero

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been unveiled, with only a few secrets of what is to come still on the way. Following the reveal of Phase 5’s movies and shows at San Diego Comic-Con in July, the Phase Zero podcast decided it was time to share some hype rankings. The crew on ComicBook.com’s MCU podcast thought long and hard about their lists before sharing them on Wednesday’s live broadcast, prompting chaos on the show and in the comment section – but it’s all in good fun! The show can be seen in the video above or listened to on any major podcast platform.

The Phase 5 titles included in the ranking were the 12 movies and shows featured at San Diego Comic-Con. Armor Wars was not included, though it is still expected to be on the way. The titles were Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Secret Invasion, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Echo, Loki Season 2, The Marvels, Blade, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America: New World Order, and Thunderbolts. 

Phase Zero Episode 2×29 is available now on all major podcast platforms. It is also available in video form on the ComicBook.com Twitch channel and the official Phase Zero YouTube channel. Phase Zero‘s new YouTube channel recently surpassed 1,200,000 views as the podcast saw an uptick in downloads with the bonus episode from San Diego Comic-Con. The Phase Zero podcast capped off an exciting freshman year in 2021. In its first episode, the Phase Zero show revealed its mission to be creating a fun and positive community of Marvel fans, getting fans an opportunity to interact with members of the Marvel Studios family, and providing exclusive insights from hosts and celebrity guests. All of those boxes have been checked and more, with more than 1.2 million listeners across all platforms in 2021! 

Throughout 2022, Phase Zero has continued to innovate its content and provide a fun, welcoming environment for all fans. Exclusive interviews with Moon Knight executive producer Grant Curtis, Marvel Studios prop master Russell Bobbitt, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness costume designer Graham Churchyard, and Venom director Ruben Fleischer have been featured in Season 2, along with a trivia episode, a dive into plot holes, and anticipation rankings!

Throughout 2021, Phase Zerofeatured live interviews with many members of the Marvel Studios family. WandaVision director Matt Shakman, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier director Kari Skogland, Loki director Kate Herron, Marvel Studios head of visual development Andy Park, Thanos and Shang-Chi co-creator Jim Starlin, The Visions comic writer Tom King, What If…?‘s creative team of A.C. Bradley and Bryan Andrews, Eternals producer Nate Moore, Avengers: Endgame cameo-maker (and ESPN’s fantasy football expert) Matthew Berry, Hawkeye‘s Tracksuit Mafia actors Carlos Navarro, Aleks Paunovic, and Piotr Adamczyk, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu and director Destin Daniel Cretton joined the show live. Extended pre-recorded interviews with Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, Black Widow writer Eric Pearson, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis were also featured!

Other celebrity guests included NFL Pro Bowler and Pittsburgh Steelers player Cam Heyward, TikTok star Supes, Flora & Ulysses director Lena Khan, and NXT wrestler Johnny Gargano. The show is hosted and produced by Brandon Davis, with all-star co-hosts Jenna Anderson, Aaron Perine, and Jamie Jirak.
